Our New Home: 'What a Journey This Has Been'

BSM moves headquarters into spacious, newly constructed Incline Village building
Phew! It's been a busy few weeks for the BSM Consulting team between attending the American Academy of Ophthalmology industry meeting in Chicago and BSM's stragetic planning meeting at Northstar California. It's good to finally be back home in our Lake Tahoe Basin headquarters.
After 35 years, we have a new and “permanent” home office for the BSM team! On Sept. 1, we proudly packed our bags and moved all of our belongings into the new home of BSM Consulting, located at 893 Incline Way in Incline Village, Nev. What a journey this has been!
From our early and humble days in a small 600-square-foot office with three employees, we have grown to nearly 40 team members and expanded our office footprint to more than 6,500 square feet.
This move not only reflects the company’s growth, but more importantly, it symbolizes the teamwork and focus that has exemplified BSM for many years. As I sit in my new office, I reflect back on what has impressed me the most with the building’s development process.
Most notably, our new home is the first commercial construction project in Incline Village in more than 10 years. Given environmental concerns in the Tahoe Basin, it is very difficult to navigate the regulatory approval process, but thanks to the extraordinary effort between our staff and the construction management team, we were able to see this project through to a successful conclusion.

Other things that stand out to me include the organization, planning, and discipline associated with the process. We assembled the right leadership team who developed a great plan, communicated effectively on various details, and who, perhaps most importantly, created a “drama-free zone.” I can’t recall any “big” issues arising during the course of planning or construction. The net result is a project that was completed under budget and ahead of schedule.
A big takeaway from the development process is that our strong balance sheet enabled us to make many decisions without feeling too much financial pressure. We were able to use our retained earnings to purchase the land. In addition, we were able to leverage our balance sheet to negotiate highly favorable construction and permanent financing terms.
Of course our journey would have never been possible without the loyalty and support of our incredible clients. You inspire us to be better every day. Thank you for always being there for us. On behalf of each member of our team, we look forward to serving you for many years to come.
